Blue Sky Frames offers the model railroader eight (8) different module frames for easy building of his or her layout. We have scenery products, such as, Reindeer Lichen for trees and shrubs; hand-made deciduous trees to represent the Big Leaf Maple and Red Alder found in the forests of the Pacific Northwest; hand-made evergreen trees to represent the fir, spruce, and hemlock forests of the Pacific Northwest. Our customers tell us the trees look natural and realistic. They tell us they don't like the plastic trees being produced by the larger companies. We also have custom-made decals and highway signs to add realism to your layout. For the modeler who has been contemplating building a wood trestle bridge; a streambed from a flat surface; or adding a stream that looks realistic; we have how-to pictorial step-by-step booklets to guide you through the process to your completed project.
These module frames are designed to make it easy to expand, contract, or move your layout and scenery without tearing it all apart.
The eight different module frames are available at different stages of development for modelers who want to build part of the module frames for themselves. Two (2) modules are corner units with one (1) connecting to two (2) 36" wide modules. The other corner unit connects to two (2) 24" wide modules. There are two (2) custom shapes 24"W x 48"Lx36"W that connect to one (1) 36" wide module and one (1) 24" wide module. A 24"W x 48"L rectangular module and a 36"W x 48"L rectangular module help lengthen the layout. There are (2) 24"W x 48"L rectangle module frames (#2700 & #2800 series) designed for HO modelers who want or need a 36" radius curve. Each module frame comes with the electrical holes pre-drilled 4" off centerline of module length. Each module leg has a leveling bolt in the bottom of it for leveling the module to level or near level position.
Objectives:
- Module sizes without legs attached can be moved easily through halls, stairs, and standard 30" wide door openings with scenery intact.
- Modules can be dismantled and moved at any time and re-assembled without major harm or damage to the layout and scenery.
- The modules are based on N-Trak standards for N scale track location. You may specify a different layout arrangement, but module sizes remain as stated on webpage. For more on N-Trak, go to www.ntrak.org/standards.htm.
- Module frames are offered at different stages of development for model railroaders who enjoy different time/interest levels.
- If wiring is requested, it will be wired for DCC operation unless noted otherwise on the order form comment box.
- Each leg comes with a leveling bolt at the bottom for adjusting the module to level or near level position.
- Please specify desired height of layout top on order form comment box if it is different from the standard N-Trak 40."
These modules are not mass-produced. Please allow seven to twelve business days for delivery (depending upon your location in USA) on the least complex frames. The more complex frames with roadbed and track added will require about three weeks before delivery occurs in western states and up to four weeks for shipments east of the Mississippi River.
